Endwell wins Little League World Series after incredible undefeated season

Ryan Harlost pitched a complete game, allowing just five hits with eight strikeouts.

– New York’s Maine-Endwell beat South Korea, 2-1, to win the Little League World Series on Sunday, becoming the first United States team to win the title since 2011 and the first team from NY to win since 1964.

Hopko broke a scoreless tie with an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth and Michael Mancini led struck out 11 in a 4-2 victory over Goodlettsville, Tenn., in the US final Saturday. Harlost also came into score; while Jack Hopko was batting he scampered home on a wild pitch to put his team up 2-0.

“It just feels good to watch these kids play ball and how far they came”. The team representing the Mid-Atlantic region defeated the team from South Korea 2-1 on Sunday afternoon in front of a sellout crowd at Howard J. Lamade Stadium.

Waking to the plate as Endwell fans along the first base side bellowed “Juuude!”

ABC will air the 2016 Little League World Series Championship Game at promptly 3:00 PM ET on Sunday. Can New York win its first title since 1964 or will South Korea make it two in three years?

Maine-Endwell ended its flawless season 24-0.

Seum Kwon and Jaekyeong Kim hit two-run homers and Wontae Cho also connected for South Korea (4-0).

“I’m just proud of them”, he said at the post-game press conference.

With one out, Maine-Endwell’s Jude Abbadessa started the surge with the team’s first hit off Jeong, who had struck out seven of the first 10 hitters.

The two teams won their championship games Saturday and are set to play Sunday for the Little League World Series title. Abbadessa broke up the righty’s no-hit bid with a single to center.

Midfielder Gyasi Zardes will miss the United States’ World Cup qualifiers after he was injured in a Major League Soccer game.

Players say they’ve learned a lot from watching the little league team. McWilliams blast halved New Yorks lead, but Abbadessa struck out Carson Rucker to end the game.

The last American team to win the Little League World Series was Ocean View Little League, from Huntington Beach, California.

A Team From The United States Won The Little League World Series For The First Time In Five Years
