England beat Bangladesh in Champions Trophy opener
The internet search engine giant Google marks the opening of ICC Champions Trophy matches today, June 1, with an interactive doodle on its home page.

A contest between India and Pakistan is eagerly awaited by the millions of cricket fans, especially if it is an ICC tournament match.
Shakib Al Hasan has won the most Man-of-the-Match awards for Bangladesh but he hasn’t won one since the first ODI against Afghanistan in September past year. On hard, spinning wickets, England impressively won a low-scoring series 2-1 under the leadership of Jos Buttler.
Bangladesh return to the Oval to face Australia on June 5, with England continuing their Group A campaign against New Zealand in Cardiff the following day. If England bat first then they are capable of amassing totals of 350-400 and blowing teams away with their batting line-up. England have won five of those six matches.
Asked if Roy’s place would be under threat if he didn’t come good in the first couple of group games, Morgan replied: “I can not see it (Roy’s position) changing”.
The BCCI, however, have failed to adhere to the MoU thus far and made it clear that they will not restore relations with the PCB until they get clearance to do so from the government. It is expected that the team will reach around 350 runs with the help of Buttler’s final touches.
Bangladesh threatened the same punishment in its first one-day worldwide on English soil in seven years by producing its highest score against England, and the eighth-best total in trophy history, 40 runs more than its previous best.
Bangladesh’s seam attack has plenty of potential to cause England some problems with the swing of Mortaza, the left-arm angle of Mustafizur Rahman and the pace of Rubel Hossain being the likely three starters – although Taskin Ahmed could also be considered – which will pose a variety of different challenges to the batsmen. If the team started their game well with the coordination without any mash-ups, then they can able to end up the match with the lowest score around 180.
Earlier, courtesy Tamim’s ninth ODI hundred and a 166run partnership for the third wicket with Mushfiqur Rahim (79 off 72), Bangladesh shrugged off the disappointment of a batting debacle against India in the practice game. I’ve always had slight doubts over England at the end of a match and their death bowling but it’s certainly an area in which they are showing improvement. The other man to stand out was Mushfiqur Rahim.
Usually, you see the aggressive shots in the first ten overs, when there are only two fielders out in the deep, but Bangladesh flipped that script around.

England did not have the best of starts with Chris Woakes walking off injured after just bowling two overs and Moeen Ali dropping an easy chance at square-leg in the seventh over. With a strike rate of 99.85 with the bat and a bowling average of 37.65, he can be the ideal man to swing games England’s way when the going gets tough. Though, the team had a past winning history and may add this with that.
