England, Poland fined for crowd trouble

England and Scotland have both been fined by European governing body Uefa for failing to control their fans during recent Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Fighting broke out in the stands during the tie in Vilnius with riot police required to break up the disorder among spectators at the LFF Stadium, meaning the FA suffers a financial penalty.

The Lithuanian federation must pay UEFA €20,000 after also being found guilty of crowd disturbances and for breaching ticketing regulations and blocking stairways.

England’s Football Association were fined €15,000 (RM70,286) by UEFA yesterday for crowd trouble following the team’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania.

Scotland’s fans invaded the pitch while Polish supporters clashed with stewards and lit fireworks in the 2-2 draw.

The Polish FA haven’t escaped punishment though, as they’ve been handed a £28,700 fine for the flares, as well as the objects that were thrown from the crowd.

Scotland drew 2-2 against Poland which ended their hopes of qualifying for the tournament in France.

England and Scotland hit with Uefa penalties
