England to welcome Sri Lanka and Pakistan

England will meet Sri Lanka in the 5th Royal London ODI at the Swalec Stadium on Saturday 2nd July before returning to Wales to meet Pakistan in the 5th ODI of that series on September 4th.

Cardiff will host the final games in England’s 2016 ODI series’ against Pakistan and Sri Lanka the European Central Bank have confirmed.

The 2017 is set to see the venue welcome South Africa and the West Indies in Test and One-Day worldwide cricket respectively.

Sri Lanka will play two games against the Irish in June while the two matches against Pakistan are set to take place in August.

Pakistan’s Mohammad Asif, Salman Butt and Mohammad Amir and their agent Mazhar Majeed arranged deliberate no-balls during the Lord’s Test against England five years ago in return for money in a deal with an undercover reporter of a now defunct British tabloid.

Pakistan touch down on June 29 and their first Lord’s Test since the spot-fixing controversy of 2010 begins on July 14 following tour matches at Somerset and Sussex.

The global campaign concludes with five more ODIs between August 24 and September 4 and a T20 in Manchester three days later.

England would like to avenge Sri Lanka for their heart-breaking loss to the islanders previous year.

That is when the ECB’s Major Match Group determined the split of games between 2012 and 2016, and it has subsequently been awarded fixtures for the 2017-19 period.
