According to the Israel Defense Forces, he drove up to the checkpoint near Ramallah, left his auto and opened fire on soldiers manning the area.

We are engaging with Arab countries in the region to harness the support that both sides need to bring peace and security to Israelis and Palestinians alike. Ynet, a leading Israeli news site, reported that a friend of Sukari said that he had been anxious about his debts. They are convinced it can only mean one thing: Hamas is tunneling under their homes from Gaza and will one day emerge, guns blazing, to attack or kidnap them.
The figures provided by rights group Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) shows that more than 7,000 Palestinian prisoners are now held in some 17 Israeli jails, dozens of whom are serving multiple life sentences. He worked as a bodyguard for the Palestinian Authority’s attorney general in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

At least 151 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire, including 106 who were said by Israel to have been attackers. Instead, the government he headed increased the pace of construction in the settlements and undercut the prestige of the Palestinian Authority led by Mahmoud Abbas.
In Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, 2016 has begun much as 2015 ended – with unacceptable levels of violence and a polarised public discourse.
Barghouti has strongly advocated the worldwide campaign of boycotts, divestments and sanctions (BDS) against Israel, a campaign that has gathered momentum in recent years.

The news comes amid increasing violence in Palestine and Israel since October through stabbing attacks and a major Israeli crackdown on Palestinian anti-occupation protests.
