Epic’s Paragon: All Heroes Free, Early Access Starts March 18

While the full version of the game will be free, these Founder’s Packs will cost $20 when they go on sale beginning March 14. In addition, any progress made from March 18 onwards will not be wiped later down the line, giving players a real incentive to get started early.

If you want to try Paragon but don’t want to pay for the privilege an open beta will take place this summer. While you will be able to buy cosmetic items, boosts, and other convenience items, Superville claimed these were not gameplay-affecting items that will give one side a huge advantage.

Starting on March 14th, Epic will be offering what they’re calling “Founder’s Packs”.

It all boils down to how much you want to play Paragon.

The game does have the core structure of an MOBA, but it uses a third-person perspective and a range of shooter mechanics that make the experience tenser and more focused on cooperation between characters.

Like many of its ilk, this MOBA is selling “Founder’s Packs”, AKA a collection of in-game unlocks such as skins and boosts, as well as an invitation to participate in the closed beta. Players can even unlock cards from the website when viewing brief previews of each hero.

Epic clarified that all heroes will be free and no pay-to-win items will be sold.

“Paragon is designed so that all players can compete and win without ever having to spend money”, said creative director Steve Superville. We’re taking this approach because we believe that competitive games need to be fair for all players.

All those engaged will also be encouraged to offer feedback on the main mechanics and the development team pledges to deliver new heroes every three weeks while making sure that community events also keep Paragon engaging.
