Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit announces Holy Week, Easter schedule
Easter services at Bethel Church: 7:30 and 10 a.m. March 27. UCCH will also hold a Taize service at 7:30 p.m. Friday. An Easter Fellowship breakfast and Flowering of the Cross will be at 9:45 a.m. Childcare will be provided. Donation is $7. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch served at noon.

All events, except the sunrise service, will be held at the 6 Church Road church.
The 126-year-old church at Third and East Highland Aves. will conduct its worship service marking the “Resurrection of the Lord” at 11 a.m. on Easter Sunday. Easter Egg Hunt br br St. Genevieve Catholic Church will host an Easter egg hunt Sunday starting at 11:30 a.m.at 815 Barbier Ave., Thibodaux. This service has become a family tradition for many. Participants in the service will carry the cross around the three churches through the 14 Stations of the Cross. There will also be a field designated for individuals with special needs.
Sunday: 7 a.m., Easter sunrise service at Slippery Rock Church Cemetery led by the Rev. Dave McQuaid, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Ellwood City; 10 a.m., Easter Sunday worship service. It is 3.5 miles north of Encampment on HWY 230. Tickets are $12 in advance and $13 at the door.
Hog Swamp Baptist Church, located on Wire Grass Road in Lumberton, will have a 7:15 a.m. Easter service with breakfast to follow. Prayer, music, homily and sacraments will be offered. A continental breakfast will follow. The Sanctuary is handicapped accessible through the alley entrance between 8th Street and 9th Street. Musicians will include tenor Jeff Britton, soprano Cate Bayles and on oboe Martin Ulrich.
LAKE JUNALUSKA Easter sunrise service: March 27, 7 a.m., amphitheater at the cross at Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center, Lakeshore Drive. Ulrich will conduct René Clausen’s “Kyrie” from Memorial – which was written in memory of the victims of 9/11 – for chorus and orchestra. Sunday School will not be held so that the entire family can be together, but childcare will be available for all services.
REALITY: March 27, 10:30 a.m., First Church of Christ, Scientist, 64 N. French Broad Ave., Asheville. Pastor Jim Hollister will preach.
Emmanuel Baptist Church, 300 Ballpark Rd., will have an Easter Sunday Service at 10:15 a.m. There will be nursery care and children’s education.
On Sunday, there will be a sunrise service at 7 a.m., followed by a youth breakfast fund raiser at 8 a.m. and an Easter egg hunt at 9:30 a.m.
Hours: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday-Saturday; 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday; 1-6 p.m. Sunday. The community is invited to attend. See eastonchurch.org for more details.
EASTER DRAMA “The Living Lord’s Supper”: March 26-27, 7 p.m., Berry Chapel Baptist Church, 280 Chapel St., Spruce Pine. Easter Services will include traditional worship with choir, handbells and pipe organ at 8 and 11 a.m. Sunday and a contemporary service at 9:30 a.m. featuring the praise band. Music will start at 6 a.m. with a short message to follow.
The Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 830-484-3302, will have a Holy Thursday service at 7 p.m. On Friday, Stations of the Cross will be at 2:30 p.m., with a Celebration of the Lord’s Passion at 3 p.m. Saturday, Easter Vigil Mass is at 8:30 p.m. On Easter, Mass will be at 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.

You can take part in this journey of faith anytime between 4 and 9 p.m. Friday.
