Liverpool only managed to score 22 goals through 25 games in 2015-2016 and is now without forwards Danny Ings, Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi as well as midfielder Philippe Coutinho.
The club’s chief executive, Ian Ayre, has flown to Florida, where Shakhtar are now training, to try and reach an agreement with the Ukrainian club, according to newspapers including the Liverpool Echo and The Guardian.
Liverpool have offered £24.6m million for the 26-year-old Shakhtar forward, who has been on fire all season long. “Shakhtar have said they will not release me in January, only at the end of the season, but I’m keeping a clear head”.
Chelsea, as you will know, are also interested in the player but as yet they don’t appear to have made a formal offer. “Four important players. But I think we played a good game, despite the absence of these performers”. ‘I can not say it is only money going somewhere else. “You can’t just throw the money away and take any players you want”, said the Reds boss, talking about the difference in available funds between the Premier League and the Bundesliga.
The Reds are said to be looking to negotiate Guerreiro heading to Anfield in the summer ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.
The Ukrainian Premier League outfit, who sit joint-top of the league with 14 wins from 16 and are now out in Orlando for the Florida Cup, value Teixeira at closer to £38.5 million – though Liverpool remain confident of securing the player’s services for a cheaper fee. This is for the long-term development of the club. He’s working hard. His attitude was really good.

‘You are in the competition with all the teams who all have money. Money is not the only issue. Borussia Dortmund signed Henrikh Mkhitaryan, then a target of Liverpool, for £23.6million under Klopp in 2013.
