Chelsea FC’s official statement read: “David Luiz is a Chelsea player once more having completed a return to Stamford Bridge following two years at Paris Saint-Germain”.

Spending by England’s 20-club Premier League alone was expected to bust the one billion pounds (1.17 billion euros, $1.3 billion, Ksh133.22 billion) barrier after Manchester United set a new world record with the 89 million pound purchase this month of French midfielder Paul Pogba.
Meanwhile, the Blues’ desperation for a new centre-back led them to David Luiz, a player who left Stamford Bridge for France two years ago. “So I can not wait to wear the shirt and play in Stamford Bridge again”.
Speaking to Chelsea TV moments after his transfer from PSG had been confirmed, Luiz offered some insight into the dramatic last 24 hours, as well as his excitement at the challenge that lies ahead.
The defender now returns to his former club, where he is a firm fan favourite, and will be relishing the chance to help the Blues recover from a disappointing 2015/16 campaign which saw European football missed out on.
The 29-year-old becomes the second defensive addition of the summer window, following the arrival of Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina earlier on deadline day.
Luiz had won the UEFA Champions League with the London club during his first stint.
At Manchester City, five players who have fallen out of favour under new manager Pep Guardiola left Eastlands on season-long loans. It worked for Hatem Ben Arfa, whose 17 goals in 34 games for the Ligue 1 side last season earned him a move to PSG this summer.
Chelsea now holds second place in the Premier League standings, with Manchester City at the first. “PSG couldn’t beleve their luck and I think first of all they tried to keep him because they had no other options and then they thought “the money’s too good, we can’t turn that down, it’s impossible”. It’s time for me to win some titles.
He signed a five-year contract and is thought to have cost Spurs around 30 million pounds. Everybody knows I have a feeling for this club.

Alonso played for Bolton for three seasons, including alongside Gary Cahill, who is now one of his Chelsea team-mates.
