EPL Review: Arsenal crush Chelsea, Manchester City maintain ideal start

Chelsea have held something of a hoodoo over Arsenal in recent times.

“We lost Coquelin and Xhaka came on and straight away he is at the level of the game”, Wenger told Sky Sports.

“We want to play this kind of game, based on technical quality and pace”.

Prior to their convincing victory at the Emirates on Saturday, Arsenal had only beaten the Blues once in the last five years – in 2011 – when Cesc Fabregas was their captain.

“I think we should not worry about whether we should have scored more”, said Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

“I must find the right solution for this team because, in every game, we are conceding two goals minimum”.

“After today we are thinking that we must work a lot because we are great team only on paper”.

“We win as a team we lose as a team”. We showed great quality, we played with style, with pace, with movement.

The Frenchman oversaw his side’s first league success against these opponents in five years with a flawless opening half which in effect settled the derby.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte said: “We didn’t have the right attitude from the kick-off”.

“I have to solve the situation”, he said.

“For this reason three at the back or two or four, I don’t care about it”.

Granit Xhaka was on for the injured Francis Coquelin by that stage and early in the second half the Switzerland global released Walcott inside the Chelsea box but his attempt to pick out Sanchez was wasteful. Today was one of those moments as a manager when you think: ‘Today is a great day.’ In the first half it was almost ideal.

“I think that, now, the most important thing is to work and not think about other situations”.

“So I hope he is not out as long as past year”.

Arsenal’s French manager Arsene Wenger celebrates after Arsenal scored their third goal during the English Premier League football match between Arsenal and Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium in London.

It helped Chelsea stop the rot, but they never threatened to force their way back into the game and Courtois had to spread himself at his near post to prevent Walcott netting a second goal. “We still have some room for improvement”.

Spurs are second, four points behind leaders City and a point ahead of Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton.

Manchester United thrashed defending Premier League champions Leicester City 4-1 to vindicate manager Jose Mourinho’s decision to drop Wayne Rooney while Manchester City maintained their flawless start with a 3-1 win at Swansea on Saturday.

“At the moment Manchester City look to be way in front but if we can maintain our performances.and be consistent we might have a chance”, he said.
