Erdogan: US should choose between Turkey, Kurdish forces

In January, ten people were killed in a suicide bombing in Ankara, blamed on ISIS, suggesting that the group is making good on its promises to target Turkey. Recalling the pre-Iraq invasion days, Erdogan said he does not want to “commit the mistake in Syria that had been committed in Iraq”. Three women were violently hauled away and, according to their accounts, beaten in the face and breasts moments after heckling Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Cavusoglu has said the Syrian Kurdish forces’ participation in U.N-led peace talks for Syria in Geneva would be “dangerous” and lead to the end of the U.N.-led initiative. They (the United States) remain silent when we repeat (the PYD is a “terrorist” group) and they say “we do not consider them like that” behind our backs, “railed the strong man of the Turkey”.

Gallia Lindenstrauss, a Turkey expert and research fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies at Tel Aviv University, told The Jerusalem Post, “Russia is “rediscovering” the Kurds since it has traditionally been favorable to the Kurdish cause, specifically the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)”. As government forces make more gains in Aleppo, only a few kilometers from the border, Turkey is increasingly nervous. “All NATO Allies stand united in the fight against all forms of terrorism”. “But there is no question of any large-scale military intervention in Syria”.
