Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry was cleared to return to football late Tuesday.

Berry (6-0, 211) was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in December of 2014 following Week 12 of the regular season.
Berry’s future in the NFL became an afterthought last year when the diagnosis was announced. He was treated at Emory University in Atlanta and went through the final round of it in June.
Even then, his future in the NFL was still unknown.
Berry underwent several rounds of testing and other procedures to make sure he was medically able. “Everything has been positive so far”, coach Andy Reid said on Tuesday.
“He’s kept himself in good shape believe it or not”, Reid said, via Arrowhead Pride.
A three-time Pro Bowl selection and 2013 first-team All-Pro, Berry has recorded 289 career tackles, 5.5 sacks, eight interceptions and 31 passes defended.
We’ll have a few sort of news on Eric Berry very soon but we just don’t know what that news will be.

Reid and head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder are scheduled to address Berry’s medical and football timeline at the conclusion of Wednesday’s practice.
