Eric Trump: Ivanka would not allow herself to be sexually harassed
“I can not emphasise enough how deeply I disagree with Mr Trump’s statement”, McCain said.

Trump said he’d simply hope his daughter would change jobs or careers.
He previously defended former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes, who’s been accused of sexually harassing multiple women over the years, and when he clarified his answer after finding out it was more than just one woman accusing Ailes, Trump showed how blind he is to what real people go through.
Eric Trump was responding to a comment his father made in a USA Today piece, in which he said that his daughter Ivanka would either find a different career or job if she was harassed in the workplace. Although Megyn Kelly merely tweeted “Sigh” in her reaction to Eric Trump’s response to what his father had said the day before.
Gretchen Carlson, the former news anchor and host bringing the lawsuit against Ailes, understandably took the comments as a jab against her personal fortitude. “At the same time, I don’t think she would allow herself to be subjected to it”. There are laws against sexual harassment and discrimination. Chuck Todd was interviewing Trump and asked about his thoughts on the allegations against Ailes, and Trump spouted off some routine victim-blamey rhetoric about how women who praised Ailes in the past couldn’t possibly have done so if he had been less than polite to them in any way.
Katie Packer, a Republican consultant who is a staunch opponent of Trump, said she was appalled by Trump’s assertion that a woman should be the one who leaves a workplace because of unfair treatment. “And when they write books that are fairly recently released, and they say wonderful things about him”. “All of a sudden they’re saying these frightful things about him”.
While the Republican candidate seemingly feels no sympathy for the Khans, he has revealed a softer heart when it comes to Ailes’ plight, saying on several occasions that Ailes is a good friend and “a very good person”. The timeline between reporting the harassment and actually handing down the penalty can take some time and the victim can be a sitting duck for even worse harassment by a very coy co-worker during that wait.
In 2013, Trump blamed the 26,000 unreported sexual assaults in the military on gender integration.
If the Trumps insist on being in the public eye and running for office, I’m going to have to ask that they stop talking about women and issues that primarily effect women all together. A woman, of course, doesn’t look anything like any USA president, since there’s never been a female running America.

Ivanka Trump, as an heiress, has options many women don’t have – including, presumably, the economic freedom to leave a hostile work environment.
