Escaped drug kingpin probably still in Mexico
The kingpin was last seen in the shower area of the Altiplano prison in central Mexico late on July 11 before disappearing, and “the escape of Guzman was confirmed”, the National Security Commission said in a statement.

“Where is he probably the safest and best-protected?”
The tip line in the U.S.is 844-692-4101. “DEA will continue to work closely with our Mexican counterparts and provide as many resources as possible to ensure his arrest”.
Authorities have slapped a $5million reward for information that leads to the arrest of infamous Mexican drug boss El Chapo. “This does not extend to the whole of government”, he said.
Global interest in his recapture has been stoked by not only the probable “inside help” he got but also the fact that the Sinaloa cartel, known as El Chapo, has links with organized crime in at least 10 countries. Since its new escape, US and Mexican authorities are working “hand in hand” to find him, according to Riley.
The drug cartel leader broke out of a Mexican prison last month in an elaborate escape that included a hidden motorcycle and a mile-long tunnel.
DEA acting director Chuck Rosenberg told reporters he believed that Guzman was hiding in his home state of Sinaloa, in north-west Mexico.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, US Marshals Service and the US State Department are also involved, Rosenberg said.
This was the drug lord’s second escape from a maximum-security prison in Mexico.
He is wanted by U.S. authorities for an assortment of criminal charges, including cocaine smuggling and money laundering. They had made a request for his extradition two weeks before his escape, but Mexican authorities have since suspended that.

Guzman’s drug gang has smuggled billions of dollars worth of drugs into the United States and is blamed for thousands of deaths through addiction and gang violence.
