Escaped North Vegas homicide suspect whereabouts unknown
The first time Alonso Perez ran from police, it took the North Las Vegas Police Department almost a week to find him.

Police transported Perez to an interview room in the North Las Vegas Police Department’s detective bureau, where he was secured with metal bracelets.
When a detective stepped out of the room, Perez turned the handcuff until he broke free. Perez stole a Ford F-250 work truck from a nearby parking lot to leave the area.
Police consider the man, described as 200 pounds and 6 foot 3, armed and risky. Police have appealed to the public for help in finding Perez, a 6ft 3in tall Hispanic man with a tattoo of the Nike Air Jordan symbol on his neck.
However, despite his successful jailbreak, Perez was re-arrested five days later at an apartment near downtown Las Vegas. Allegedly, Perez killed Robinson during an altercation after the victim failed to hold open a door for a woman.
Murder, use of a firearm, escape and auto theft charges were added Wednesday.
Alonso Perez, who also uses the name Alfonso Perez, was arrested in connection to the August 27 shooting death of Mohammed Robinson in front of a McDonald’s restaurant in North Las Vegas.
“Believe me, this is the last thing we wanted to happen”, Patty said. “That’s the norm and we don’t know why there was one investigator in there”, said Ramos.
It began when Perez was placed in the small, seemingly secure interview room, his every move recorded and later played back to detectives.
“He torques it to the point, using some of his body weight, that it snaps the hinges”, Police Chief Alexander Perez said.
Moving forward, each suspect will be closely monitored while in custody, Chief Perez said.
He said he has already mandated constant viewing of security camera video of people left alone in interview.
“They say you do the crime, you do the time”, Robinson said.
The April escape of Ivan Mayoral-Lizarraga from a northeast Las Vegas police substation prompted a almost five-hour lockdown of a surrounding neighborhood before the search was called off. Mayoral-Lizarraga was being questioned in a stolen vehicle investigation when he fled.

According to the Clark County Detention Center’s booking files, Perez faces several charges, including: domestic battery, discharging a gun at or into an occupied structure, vehicle, or craft and assault with a deadly weapon. Mayoral-Lizarraga, now 40, was sentenced last month to 2-to-5 years in state prison.
