Eskimos down REDBLACKS at 103rd Grey Cup
The 103rd instalment of the Grey Cup will kick off in Winnipeg Sunday, Nov. 29, with plenty of league-leading players to watch.

Eskimos receiver Shamawd Chambers was the game’s Most Valuable Canadian with two catches for 49 yards.
But their chainsaw wasn’t welcome at Investors Group Field, where the second-year Redblacks faced the Edmonton Eskimos in Sunday’s CFL championship game. Edmonton’s offensive line finished fifth in sacks allowed with 47 but quarterback Mike Reilly is a very good runner and his mobility allows him to escape defensive pressure to either buy time, to look downfield or head upfield for costive yards.
American rockers Fall Out Boy were your half time entertainment in what was a refreshingly enjoyable show for CFL Grey Cup standards. He also ran for 66 yards on 10 carries. Whyte booted a convert, single and field goal while Grant Shaw added another single.
Leave it to the kickers to kick up a fuss on the eve of the Grey Cup.
Edmonton would hold onto the ball and win the game. And while the Grey Cup will always be dwarfed by the Super Bowl, we Canadians should remember that our game was into proper halftime spectacles before the NFL.
“You do have to have the talent level but at the same time I think you need to surround yourself with quality people with some character”, Campbell said after a chilly morning practice Friday. “We were ready to play Monday but you’ve got to go through the process, you’ve got to go through your weekly preparation”.
Sheldon McMillan, who wore an Adarius Bowman-autographed Eskimo jersey and matching football trousers, described the team’s Grey Cup appearance as redemption for a long drought. While a two-point convert was unsuccessful, the 10-play, 88-yard drive was huge as it erased a horrid start for the West Division champions, who fell behind 13-0 before the game was seven minutes old.
On the season, Lynch was 3 for 4 passing with 14 yards and a touchdown and had 40 rushes for 156 yards and five touchdowns. Then after Edmonton’s Kendall Lawrence fumbled the ensuing kickoff, the RedBlacks veteran QB found Ernest Jackson for a 7 yard TD strike.

Ottawa went ahead 19-17 in the third on another Milo field goal. Whyte’s single off a missed 45-yard field goal 10:33 of the second pulled Edmonton to within 16-11.
