Of course, Switzerland were little better until Shaqiri lit up Saint-Etienne’s Stade Geoffroy-Guichard with a goal that would have been his country’s most important ever had Granit Xhaka not hopelessly misfired from the penalty spot after a barren period of extra time.
Switzerland will face Poland in a Euro 2016 round of sixteen soccer match in Saint-Etienne on Saturday, June 25, 2016. Poland have doubts over the fitness of first choice ‘keeper Wojciech Szczesny and midfielder Bartosz Kapustka is suspended.
They won against Albania in their first game of the group stages by 1-0, then they drew their second match against Romania by 1-1 and finally in their third and last match they again drawn against France and finished second in their group.
“I played for Gornik Zabrze and in the next season we were relegated and I had to play in [the] second division”.
“We don’t have any problems with the fact that Lewandowski did not score yet”.
Switzerland will also be making their maiden appearance in the knockout round at a European Championship, with a team boasting the same defensive qualities as Poland.
The Poles and the Swiss would have been considered dark horses at the start of the tournament and much was expected from the array of talent within either team. Though it was Lewandowski’s fourth consecutive worldwide match without a goal, Poland coach Adam Nawalka is not anxious by the lack of a cutting edge. “But we now have time to recover and improve those things”.
Switzerland’s predicted XI: Sommer; Lichtsteiner, Schar, Djourou, Rodrgiuez; Xhaka, Dzemaili; Shaqiri, Embolo, Mehmedi.
Grosicki ran on to a very long throw, Milik’s dummy allowing the ball through for Fiorentina winger Jakub Blaszczykowski’s nutmeg on the goalkeeper.
“It’s great to see the team is progressing”, he said.
“The coaches there really study the opposition two or three times in the course of the week, to try to get the better of their opponents”, he said.
Nawalka called Switzerland, which advanced as the runner-up to France in Group A, “one of the more interesting” teams at Euro 2016, but said his squad is powered by “faith and optimism”.
Poland looked exhausted and it was all Switzerland as time ticked away and they went even closer to an equaliser when Seferovic struck the woodwork with a rasping drive.
These both teams have faced each other for the total number of a number of 10 matches, and out of that Poland has been unbeaten in the 9 matches and the remaining match was won by the Switzerland.
Dortmund left-back Lukasz Piszczek is always a threat with crosses from the left flank for Ajax striker Arkadiusz Milik in the middle.

Poland’s midfield is also in good shape, Grzegorz Krychowiak having become a real leader, while the team have created good chances in every game.
