Euro 2016: Italy striker Pelle apologises for penalty miss
Pelle scored two goals at Euro 2016 but was incessantly criticised for telling Manuel Neuer which way he would dive for the Italian’s penalty in their shootout loss to Germany.

The Southampton attacker was one of four Italians to miss from the spot, the game having ended 1-1 after 120 minutes, with Simone Zaza, Leonardo Bonucci and Matteo Darmian also failing to find the net.
Safe to say it didn’t work out so well for the big frontman as his effort then dribbled wide and he was left apologising to his country and proclaiming that he is a nobody in the mixed zone afterwards.
“Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois have told me many good things about the club, and with Antonio Conte coming in it’s an exciting time to become a Chelsea player”. Just don’t let him take penalty kicks*. I was a nobody when I arrived at the Euros and I am still a nobody now. “This is a fantastic opportunity for myself and my family, I am looking forward to playing in the Premier League next season”.

Pelle also clarified that he did not want to disrespect the Germany goalkeeper in trying to faze him beforehand. He will have to hope that Pellè would really want to play for him again, considering the club’s over-30 contract policy and the untold riches that China would no doubt be offering.
