Euro champs’ chief confirms Chelsea on verge of surprise transfer deal
Chelsea look set to sign Dinamo Zagreb goalkeeper Eduardo, claims the coach of the Croatian side. Eduardo has been offered a great honour to go to a big club like Chelsea. Zlatako Kranjcar made the claim on Thursday claiming the Portugal global will make the move once Dinamo’s Champions League play-off clash with Red Bull Salzburg is over next week. Speaking after the game against Salzburg, Kranjcar was asked about Eduardo situation where he revealed that the player will leave the club. With his arrival we gained security in our team, since my time in the club he has defended his goal very well.

Eduardo – who was part of Portugal’s victorious Euro 2016 squad – would become Chelsea’s third signing of the summer, after striker Michy Batshuayi was acquired from Marseille in a £33 million deal and N’Golo Kante chose to leave Premier League champions Leicester City for Stamford Bridge once a fee of around £30m was agreed.
Eduardo is expected to be nothing more than a back-up for current Blues number 1 Thibaut Courtois.
Eduardo was a member of Portugal’s national team squad during Euro 2016, collecting the winner’s medal without playing a single minute in the competition.
