Europe reacts to Donald Trump’s ‘bromance’ with Putin
“As far as I can tell it’s been terrific”, the president said of his reception in Asia broadly, noting that the primary concern he’s heard in Asia is not about the success of US engagement but whether it will continue after he leaves office.

On the US intervention in Libya in 2011, Clinton rejected Trump’s criticism of her support for the effort as secretary of state.
“Russia wants to defeat ISIS as badly as we do”, he said.
Speaker Ryan’s refusal to say that praising dictators and strongmen as superior to a democratically elected president is wrong summed up the GOP’s Trump problem.
Meanwhile Sueddeutsche Zeitung reported on Trump’s “controversial” remarks about Putin and said Trump showed no signs of disassociating himself from the Russian leader, an observation also made in the French press.
She replied: “I did exactly what I should have done and I take it very seriously”.
Trump also touted his “great judgment” and said he was “totally against the war in Iraq”.
“He supported it before it happened, he supported it as it was happening, and he is on the record as supporting it after it happened”, Clinton said. “And I think I would have a very, very good relationship with Russian Federation”.
Mr Trump replied: “Well, they’d probably be different generals, to be honest with you”. “That is a judgment issue”. Investigators said she was “extremely careless” but that criminal charges were not warranted.
After years of bad blood between Putin and Obama over the crisis in Ukraine and Moscow’s support for Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, some Russians insist the Kremlin can handle whoever is the next United States president.
Hillary Clinton has defended anew her handling of classified information as secretary of state, insisting she did not jeopardise national security by discussing the Obama administration’s drone program and other sensitive matters on a personal email account.
“All my friends support him”, he said, though adding that Trump’s character might not fit in with presidential duties.
Clinton called the fight against Islamic State the top counterterrorism goal, advocating using air power and getting more support from Arabs and Kurds fighting on the ground while also supporting the Iraqi military. Clinton restated her opposition to sending a contingent of troops into Syria and said she would not deploy ground troops to Iraq “ever again”.
Clinton has spent much of the summer trying to paint Trump as ill-prepared to be commander in chief and too unpredictable to make decisions that put American service members in harm’s way.
Last December, he said it was “a great honour” after Mr Putin called him “a talented person”.
“I think under the leadership of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton the generals have been reduced to rubble”.

A recent CNN/ORC poll released this month found that 51% of likely voters believe Trump is best to specifically combat terrorism, compared to 45% for Clinton. It was the first time Trump and Clinton had squared off on the same stage since securing their nominations in July. There will be two more debates in October ahead of the November 8 election.
