European Union promises free wifi internet for all its members by 2020

By November the Commission will propose a European traveler information system: “Each time someone enters the EU, the place, date and motivation of their travels will be registered”, so that “this new automatic system will say who is authorize to travel to the EU before they arrive in the EU”, Juncker said.

The EU was not “at risk” from Brexit, he insisted.

“More European defense in Europe doesn’t mean less trans-Atlantic solidarity”, Juncker said.

Instead, and in place of the lofty rhetoric of 2015, Juncker’s 50-minute speech unveiled concrete economic and security proposals, including the establishment of an European Union defence headquarters to work towards a common military force.

Although all European Union member states have their own military forces, and most are members of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and partners with the U.S., Juncker is hoping that a joint European Union force would increase coopration and afford Europe greater security.

“Britain had not many friends any more”.

“We have to stop this war according to which all success is national and all failure is European”, Juncker said.

Obama added: “I’ll be honest, sometimes Europe has been complacent about its own defense”.

The EUA also “strongly doubts” that the Commission’s goals “will be achievable” without diverting more money towards “the knowledge creation and new skills needed to improve Europe’s economy”. But NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg cautioned earlier this month that “the thing we have to avoid is duplication”.

The EU has laid out its ambitions for pushing forward with mobile connectivity, including the provision of free Wi-Fi across member nations, and goals for rolling out 5G, the next step in mobile broadband.

If Juncker’s proposals are enacted, “it truly will be a quantum leap in European Union defense cooperation”, Terlikowski said.

Prime Minister Theresa May has previously said that she will not trigger Article 50 – the formal start of the process of leaving the European Union – before 2017.

Asked why he believed British voters chose to back Brexit, Juncker said: “This is a simple and easy question, asking for thousands of answers”.

“History will not remember us, but our mistakes”. We need to be connected.

British Conservative lawmaker Syed Kamall in contrast accused Juncker of indulging in the kind of “supranationalism” that turned so many Britons against the bloc. The Luxembourg-hailing politician added that a lack of cooperation on military resources was costing billions to European Union countries.
