Eva Longoria Delivers Personal DNC Speech, Hits At Donald Trump

The actress stopped by New York City in the morning to preview her new collection for “The Limited”, before heading to Philadelphia where she spoke at the opening night of the Democratic National Convention along with Lena Dunham, America Ferrera and Sarah Silverman. During her speech, Longoria did not hold back from criticizing Donald Trump’s stance on immigration, an issue that is close to her.

“I’m a ninth generation American from a small town in South Texas”.

Eva Longoria said her family never crossed the Mexican border to get in the United States, but instead said the United States crossed the Mexican border.

She said: “He is a gentleman, very elegant. and I’m more casual”.

The former “Desperate Housewives” actress was referring to claims by GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump who has said that among those who cross the Mexican border are “criminals” and “rapists”.

Eva Longoria shared her uniquely American experience with the Democratic National Convention crowd before introducing Cory Booker on Monday evening. My father isn’t a criminal or a rapist. “When Donald Trump said a wife who works is ‘a unsafe thing, ‘ he not only insulted me, he insulted my mother”.

Longoria also brought up Trump’s views on women.

The “Devious Maids” producer also spoke about Trump’s views on women: “When he said that a wife who works is a very risky thing, he not only insulted me, he insulted my mother who worked as a special-education teacher for 40 years and raised four children while being a wife”, Longoria added.

Longoria went on to give an unreserved endorsement of Secretary Clinton: “You know, I believe in the candidate who believes in all of us, and that candidate is Hillary Clinton”. Most notably, she appeared to touch a nerve with the audience when she opened up about her eldest sister, Elizabeth Longoria.
