Evacuation order lifted for Willow Fire

Jerusalem Valley also had been threatened by the Rocky fire. No injuries have been reported.

Authorities are considering lifting the evacuation order for some homes.

The Mohave Valley Times reports the fire is actually eight smaller fires, perhaps supporting the possibility that the fire was caused by lightning or that embers blew from the fire to start it in another location.

McLean said the causes of the ongoing Rocky fire and the Jerusalem Fire remained under investigation and he declined to say whether officials consider either or both of the fires suspicious.

A burning motor home ignited a 500-acre wildfire in the San Jacinto Mountains of Southern California on Monday, blazing through dry brush just east of Anza and displacing nearby residents.

King said he began loading his important documents, rifles, generator, clothes and other possessions as soon as he and his wife saw the smoke Saturday morning.

Inspectors do not yet know how the RV caught fire, but Carlson said it rolled about 40 feet down the edge of the highway and got stuck.

The fire is about halfway between Temecula and Palm Desert.

Dodge Fire: 10,570 acres in Lassen County near the Nevada border, 70 percent contained.

The fire broke out Saturday morning in the Topock area, 30 miles southeast of Bullhead City.

For the past week, 20 wildland firefighters from the Florida Forest Service – two from the Tallahassee district – have been in California battling the state’s wildfires.

Ruhl, was a former member of the Coast Guard who became a Forest Service Firefighter in the Black Hills. Evacuations have been lifted, and there have been no stories of accidents.

About 300 firefighters are focusing their efforts on keeping the wildfire north of the river, Forest Service spokeswoman Linda Hecker told the Fresno Bee.
