Evander Kane sleeps in, gets punished by Buffalo Sabres
On Sunday afternoon, he scored his 16th goal of the season in Buffalo’s 4-1 win over Colorado. Senators D Mark Borowiecki missed his first game with what is believed to be an upper-body injury he sustained in Columbus on Saturday. The Sabres (23-28-7) saw their winning streak end at two games.Moulson ended a personal 44-game slump by scoring for the Sabres in the first period, while Senators winger Ryan Dzingel replied with the first goal of his National Hockey League career.

Deal with it they have, as it was later announced that Kane would be suspended for Tuesday’s game in Ottawa against the Senators. “I didn’t think we had our “A” game, no excuses but we had some guys with the flu, some guys that we weren’t sure were going to play, and they came in and found a way to get two points”.
With five games before the February 29 trade deadline, the Senators have to make a move in the standings or they’ll spend the final six weeks of the season playing out the string. “Now we need to get ready for a different test two days from now”.
Buffalo winger Matt Moulson was the only one to beat Craig Anderson in regulation while Robin Lehner made the stops necessary against his former teammates.
Buffalo Sabres’ Evander Kane took his sister to the NBA All-Star Game in Toronto over the weekend.
Trying to claw their way back into the Eastern Conference playoff race, the Ottawa Senators put their fate in good hands Tuesday night. “He could have made it to the game just fine and back”, Bylsma added.
The Senators fell behind early, but seemed to get better as the game progressed. The Sabres arrived in Ottawa Monday night and though their travel time from their Kanata hotel to the rink took a little longer than expected, they didn’t have any issues. Lehner caught a Karlsson one-timer off a 2-on-1 with Dzingel in the second minute; Anderson stopped Eichel on that breakaway.
