Everton Close In On Stoke Man Arnautovic

After a strong campaign last season that saw him score 11 goals in 34 Premier League appearances, the former Werder Bremen player is seeking around £80,000-a-week.

Arnautovic only has one year left to run on his current deal, and has not been able to agree a new contract during the summer transfer window.

Those demands, though, are hindering Everton’s attempts to sign the 27-year-old and should he refuse to compromise on the terms he is looking for, he will price himself out of a move to Goodison Park.

Arnautovic’s departure would come as a blow to Stoke following his form last season though they may put the funds towards a club record bid for West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino.

The West Brom striker had previously been a transfer target for Tottenham, and looks set to leave the Baggies after a string of disagreements with the club’s hierarchy, including a Twitter outburst after a move to Spurs a year ago failed to materialise.

According to reports from Sky Sports Austria, summarised in English by Sky Sports, Stoke City forward Marko Arnautovic is on the verge of completing a summer transfer to Everton.

Stoke have already signed Egypt winger Ramadan Sobhi and on Monday confirmed Joe Allen’s arrival in a £13m deal from Liverpool.
