Everton in talks with American investors
According to The Times, Moores, Charles Noell and their partners have been granted a six-week period of exclusivity by Everton chairman Bill Kenwright to look at the club’s financials.

United States journalist David Lengel spoke to Sport Today’s Ed Harry about one of Everton’s potential new owners, John Jay Moores.
Everton have yet to officially confirm the discussions but are openly looking for new investment and have been the subject of various takeover attempts, including an approach earlier this year from Sporting Club, who own MLS side Sporting Kansas City.
In their “Fab Four” of John Stones, Ross Barkley, Gerard Deulofeu and Romelu Lukaku – all 22 or under – Everton possess some of the country’s hottest young prospects and they displayed a resolute attitude on Stones when Chelsea attempted to prise him away from Merseyside on multiple occasions over the summer.
Kenwright has always maintained he would be happy to sell to serious investors who can take the club forward and help them compete with the big spenders of the Premier League.
Everton have refused to comment on speculation they are on the verge of a £200m American-based takeover.
The prospective buyers of the club include the former owners of a Major League Baseball side.
“It’s my club and Goodison Park – as much as I love it – I think Everton need a new football ground”, he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

Toffees supporters have ran out of patience with the club’s current board, led by chairman Bill Kenwright, for a perceived lack of investment at Goodison Park.
