Everton sign Enner Valencia from West Ham on a season-long loan

West Ham forward Enner Valencia has joined Everton on transfer deadline day in a season-long loan deal.

The media were reporting this a few minutes before the window closed.

However, despite striking a deal with the club Everton failed to agree personal terms and it is understood they had difficulty getting the 27-year-old and his representatives to the negotiating table.

The deal includes the option of a permanent deal and he will join up with the squad after global duty with Ecuador.

As such, Valencia has agreed to move to the Toffees in a bid to see better playing guarantees, yet he may find that tough with Belgian powerhouse Romelu Lukaku leading the line at Everton.

Sissoko would become the fifth new arrival at Goodison Park, following the additions of Yannick Bolasie, Ashley Williams, Idrissa Gueye and Maarten Stekelenburg.

To then be pipped at the post for Sissoko in the dying moments added insult to injury.

Everton had earlier announced a deal to bring in Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Sheffield United for an undisclosed fee.
