Everton sign Gueye from Aston Villa
Idrissa Gueye has told Everton’s official website he is excited to play at Goodison Park after completing his move from Aston Villa.

The 26-year-old defensive midfielder featured in all but three of Villa’s 38 topflight games last season but was unable to save the club from relegation to the Championship.
West Ham United were also supposedly hoping to sign the Senegalese worldwide, but the ex-Lille man will now be linking up with the Toffees, managed by ex-Southampton boss Ronald Koeman.
His only previous deal was a swoop for Fulham goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg. The manager told me he is very happy to have me here and that we will have time to talk about football after.
Everton have claimed that Gueye, who signed for Villa from Lille in 2015, was second behind N’Golo Kante in making the most tackles and interceptions across the top five divisions in Europe last season.
With Walsh’s arrival and greater financial clout available following Farhad Moshiri’s investment earlier this year, this could signal the start of Everton’s major transfer business, with Swansea City captain Ashley Williams expected to follow Gueye to Merseyside this week. You have to fight every game.
With the recent departures of Idrissa Gueye, the seemingly imminent departure of Ciaran Clark, and the possible departure of Carlos Sanchez, Villa will have a significant chunk of money to play with.
