Everton manager Roberto Martinez has said – at a press conference covered by the Liverpool Echo – that he would rather have performances than points at this stage of the season, but feels that his side deserve more than the nine points from the opening six games they have notched up so far.
But a summer of rest and proper preparation has rejuvenated the player, who has just racked up his 100th appearance for the club.
The manager said: “He has had a good preseason”.
“In the last game against Swansea I thought we created enough chances to win and even against Manchester City (Everton’s only defeat) I think our performance deserved a lot more than what we got”.
The 21-year-old has now already netted three times in eight games this year as he tries to get back to the performance he produced 18 months ago.

When you add good decision-making on that package of physical presence and technical ability is when Ross is at his very best. The Spaniard came so close to guiding Everton into the Champions League in his debut season at Goodison Park and is confident it can be achieved if the team focus on themselves and start putting together good results on a regular basis.
