Everton transfer rumours: Blues battle with Sevilla for Hart

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart is considering his future at the Etihad after being dropped for the Premier League opener with Sunderland on Saturday, a source has told ESPN FC.

His claims his preference for Willy Caballero at the weekend was more down to the fact the Argentinian began pre-season training earlier than Hart and is therefore more familiar with the new system.

Manchester City are reportedly looking to sign Claudio Bravo from Barcelona as a replacement for Joe Hart if he were to leave.

Yet while Guardiola has confirmed his decision was based on his preference for goalkeepers who are comfortable coming out of the area and playing with their feet, he insists Hart could still be his first choice.

“Yeah he [Allardyce] was watching, the manager [Moyes] said that before the game he wished all the boys all the best and he gave me a little nod as if to say he is watching you”, said Defoe, whose goal saw him enter the top ten in the all-time top Premier League scorers’ list, level with Robin van Persie on 144 goals. I would not like them to be happy if they didn’t play. Of course I would not be happy if absent, but now it is “try again”. We have 28 players so there are a lot that have to convince me on the pitch, it’s the only way. “But today I have to decide and today I decide in that way”. It is important for me to just get my head down, people will say what they like but it is down to me.

He added: “Maybe the next game it changes, maybe not”. The 29 year-old England worldwide was left out of the Manchester City first team in favor of the Argentinian Willy Caballero in the opening game against Sunderland.

“I have a lot of respect for Joe, a lot of respect for his career”.
