The media campaign thrust Fleetwood into the national spotlight and finally, this week, the powers that be granted his final wish.
A terminally ill “Star Wars” fan is one of the first to see “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. Disney, the very entity that makes dreams come true, heard about the cause and decided that they needed to make Daniel’s dream come true.
Everyone from large media outlets to celebrities to the everyday fan had something to say about “Star Wars”.
Daniel Fleetwood, 32, has spindle cell sarcoma, a rare form of connective tissue cancer, and was told he had just two months to live in July.
His dying wish, and that of his wife, Ashley, was to see “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. We will all do what we can to make your wish come true.
So his wife began an online campaign asking Disney Studios to let Fleetwood screen the film early.
Abrams once granted a similar request in 2013, when Daniel Craft, another man with terminal cancer, asked to see “Star Trek into Darkness” before its premiere. “May the force be with you all smile emoticon #forcefordaniel!!!!” the Facebook post read.
“I have lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people”.

Whether it’s Finn or Rey, Kanata seems to be hinting that their eyes share a few kind of connection with someone else she has encountered, perhaps even Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).
