Everybody can play better, says Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp
He said: “A striker who scores a decisive goal is always a positive thing, but I’m sure Christian knows he can play better”.

Klopp has instigated a “mini pre-season” for his star striker as he attempts to rid the 26-year-old of the series of niggly problems which have meant he has started just one game for Liverpool since the German arrived in the first week of October, as well as two appearances from the bench.
Sturridge was left behind on Merseyside on New Year’s Day along with Jordan Henderson who suffered a recurrence of his heel injury in the victory over his hometown club Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday.
Klopp said he had mixed feelings about grinding out low-scoring wins, with the manager pleased with the attitude shown but aware that his attacking players could have “made life easier” in making the points safe.
Allardyce said: “I didn’t think we deserved to lose it on the basis of how lucky their goal was”.
Liverpool begin a tough January programme with Saturday’s visit to the capital but Klopp says he is merely exercising caution with Sturridge, not keeping him in reserve for the Capital One Cup semi-final or the forthcoming games against Arsenal and Manchester United. “It is not what we always want to do but at a time like this football is not easy”.
“That’s not how it should be if you want consistently to get results”.
“We took these points, very important points, in a very hard game [at Sunderland]”. That’s very important. We defended well, we had our opportunities and Christian was there again. If you don’t do this then you have to work, do all the things for this special moment, and that’s what the team did. “But at this moment, we need goals more than anything else and he did it again, so we are really satisfied”.

“It’s very important that we win games like this, important that we don’t wait for the flawless day, so that we work for the ideal day”.
