‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ star Doris Roberts dies at 90

Her second husband, writer William Goyen, passed away after a battle with leukemia in 1983, 20 years after they tied the knot.

Doris Roberts, the actress most well-known for her role as “Marie” on ‘Everybody Loves Raymond, ‘ has died at the age of 90, according to multiple reports.

Doris now has two movies in post-production – The Red Maple Leaf and Old Soldiers.

“Truly the end of an era”, her “Raymond” costar Patricia Heaton said on Twitter, addressing her thoughts to her “beloved Marie”.

It is not yet known what caused her death.

“She was amusing and tough and loved life, living it to the fullest”. “Nothing gave her greater joy that her three wonderful grandchildren, of whom she was so proud. I will miss her greatly and will always remember her incredible kindness, humor, talent and heart”. She was also a renowned Broadway actress.

The Everybody Loves Raymond actor issued a touching tribute to his on-screen mother on Monday, shortly after news of her death went public.

She is survived by her son Michael Cannata, Jr., who she had with her first husband. She won four Emmys for her work on the show, and an earlier Emmy for an appearance in “St. Elsewhere”.
