The order also extends one issued last week waiving limits on the number of hours that commercial drivers can be behind the wheel.

A pipeline leak in central Alabama is paralyzing areas of six states in the south east. Concerns are now that the shortages could be spreading.
Posey said DeKalb’s prices will most likely increase but should remain stable.
According to AAA Carolinas, the price of a gallon of gas in SC has gone up 13 cents since the same time last week.
Quik Trip spokesman Mike Thornbrugh confirmed that there are shortages at some of its Charlotte-area stations.
Townsend said Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas have seen the most significant impacts on fuel availability.
Attorney General Roy Cooper on Monday urged North Carolina consumers to report gas prices that seem unreasonably high. States in the Northeast will be the last affected, so they should not see a major rise in prices, said gas price analyst Patrick DeHaan.
Some service stations across the state reported they’ve run out of gasoline.
Last week’s rupture and leak of more than 252,000 gallons of gas in Alabama has led to some gas shortages in Alabama and Georgia – and fueled fears of more widespread shortages across the Southeast.
This is Colonial’s largest spill in 20 years, according to the National Transportation Safety Board.
A section of Colonial Pipeline’s Line 1 was found to have spilled an estimated 336,000 gallons of fuel in Shelby County, Alabama, on Friday, Sept. 9. The company doesn’t know when the spill started. “We are taking every opportunity to save fuel and without risking the ability to do our job”, Crawford said.
Some gas stations in the Mid-South are out of gas tonight.
There also was a report that Florence auto dealerships were scrambling to find temporary sources because their normal outlets are out of gas, one of which was Murphy Express. “And if they do, then and if they do, then everything should be fine”.
Thornbrugh, the QuikTrip spokesman, said several stations in SC were seeing outages.
“Oh, yeah, I’ve noticed that the prices have just gone up – I mean, through the roof!”
Still, a crisis caused by the leak in the Colonial Pipeline is a good reminder of how quickly petroleum problems can escalate. Originally, Colonial planned to fix the leak, but now they are trying to build a bypass around it.

Governor McCrory discussed short-term conservation measures with state energy and emergency officials until normal fuel flows are completely restored. “These changes have allowed all origins and delivery markets to be served along the entire system, albeit in a reduced capacity”.
