‘Evil Dead’ back from the ‘Ash-es’
The 10-episode half-hour series, set to debut on Halloween on Saturday, stars Bruce Campbell and reunites him with the original Evil Dead filmmakers Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert.

“One season isn’t enough to satisfy the fans’ two-decade-long appetite for more Ash”, said Starz managing director Carmi Zlotnik.
For those of you wondering whether or not the series will live up to its predecessors, I can tell you that Ash vs. Evil Dead feels like we haven’t missed a beat, which is a feat unto itself considering the last installment came out almost 20 years ago.
According to Deadline, Starz has officially ordered Season 2 of Ash vs. Evil Dead, which is expected to air sometime in late 2016.
Campbell was confident the series would be renewed, saying earlier this month, “Look, we got a second season the minute there were 15 million views on Facebook for the trailer”.
“I went blind the other day shooting a scene”.
Raimi, who is producing the series and directed and co-wrote the first episode, adds, “It was very important we found a network that was willing to let us go anywhere we wanted with the humor, outrageous horror, insane amounts of gore, which are a few of the hallmarks of the films”.
The square-jawed Campbell reprises the role of Ash, just a bit older.
Will you tune in for Ash vs. Evil Dead this weekend?
A hardcore Evil Dead fan would be forgiven, then, for any initial skepticism about Ash vs. Evil Dead, the fourth entry in this beloved horror franchise.
The premium cable network has handed out an early second-season renewal for the comedic follow-up to Evil Dead, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
“I finally realised, ‘Why am I running from what the fans want me to do?’ They want this story from me, I thought I had a better one, but they don’t care, they want this one”.
He also has gained a couple of foes: a police detective named Amanda (Jill Marie Jones), who links Ash to the grisly murder of her partner; and Ruby, a formidable adversary well-versed in the Book of the Dead’s mythology and who has a serious bone to pick with Ash.

Joining in the effortsis Lucy Lawless, who plays a woman who has been tracking Ash for 30 years because she’s convinced he caused the supernatural massacre of her family.
