According to a report by Game N Guide, the rumor mill has been abuzz with word that Rick’s grandson and brainwave diffuser Morty may end up taking the blame for the imprisonment of the brassy and amoral genius when “Rick and Morty” hits its third season on Adult Swim.

Producers Justin Roiland (L) and Dan Harmon speak onstage during the Adult Swim: Rick and Morty panel at the Turner Broadcasting portion of the 2013 Summer Television Critics Association tour at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on July 24, 2013 in Beverly Hills, California. The animated series is all set to be released late this year, but an exact date hasn’t been confirmed. This means that instead of having the usual 10 episodes per season, “Rick and Morty” season 3 will have 14 episodes this time.

Season 3 of “Rick and Morty” is scheduled to air in late 2016 and will continue airing till the first quarter of 2017. Apparently, there is no truth to this rumor. “Greatness takes time”, McMahan wrote on Twitter. A teaser trailer had been released at the recently held San Diego Comic-Con, which seemed to hint that the new season will indeed contain a lot of surprises for fans of the series. Compared to the show’s past two seasons, Adult Swim ordered four more episodes for the upcoming season of the show.
