According to the complainant, he allegedly offered her cold drink, which was spiked with sedatives.
Former Delhi minister Sandeep Kumar’s private secretary, Praveen Kumar, was held on Monday on the suspicion that he circulated a sex clip involving the politician, reports said.
Kumar was sacked on Wednesday after the sex tape was made public.
The Delhi Police earlier on Saturday registered an FIR against Kumar after which he was arrested late in the evening.
The woman in her complaint said that she had approached Kumar for a ration card and was trapped.
Police booked Sandeep under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and other relevant Sections of the Information Technology (IT) Act. I am a poor woman and because of him, my image is spoiled.
Kumar, who is being interrogated by the police, has claimed innocence in the matter.
In the wake of the row over former Aam Aadmi Party MLA Sandeep Kumar’s objectionable CD, AAP MLA from Bijwasan, Colonel Devinder Sehrawat has written to party convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
“Commission has taken a note in the larger interest because we feel that as a spokesperson of a party that governs Delhi and a party whose members have been accused of many incidents of violence against women he should not be writing a blog like this which reeks of patriarchy and misogyny”, she said.
Kumar was removed from the AAP government on August 31 by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal after the CD purportedly showing him in compromising position with the woman surfaced. Ashutosh had wondered why Kumar was being punished as the leaked video clearly established that both individuals knew each other and consented to sex, which doesn’t amount to any crime.
