Ex-Eagles’ QB Sam Bradford excited about new start with Vikings
Last Thursday, two days after his starting quarterback suffered a season-ending knee injury, Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman told reporters he was weighing all options, but wouldn’t mortgage the team’s future with an act of desperation. Sam Bradford might be the flawless fit, out of the possible QBs for the Vikings because he is a player that has the talent to become a winning QB, but it’s really going to be up to him to put in the work to get back to what he was expected to be.

As it turned out, it was. The Eagles traded Bradford to Minnesota in return for a first-round pick in 2017 and a fourth-round pick in 2018.
Philadelphia is getting a first-round pick back in 2017 after dealing their own first-rounder to the Browns in April for the right to select Wentz at No. 2.
Most likely, the Eagles will enter the season with veteran Chase Daniel as the starter until they believe Wentz is ready to play. Wentz suffered a hairline rib fracture during the team’s first preseason game August 11. A left shoulder injury and a concussion led to two missed games in 2015. Daniel signed with the Eagles after four years with the Chiefs. “Sam’s a professional”, Roseman said.
“Sometimes you don’t know when you’re going to get an opportunity like this”. It’s not affected by the trade.
The Cleveland Browns had absolutely nothing to do with the trade that sent Sam Bradford from the Eagles to the Vikings, but they might come out as the biggest winners. That was the tenor of our conversation with the Vikings – for our organization to do something like that when we have a plan and we have a blueprint, it has to be something that really could affect us going forward for a long period of time.
Bradford’s departure from Philadelphia and arrival in Minneapolis leaves a stunning ripple effect throughout the league. At the same time, we’re trying to building something great.
“We knew where we needed to be to consider this”, Roseman said. “We have a lot of flexibility with our draft”. “By that, I mean people are asking for some insane things”.
“If we didn’t have the confidence in how our team was playing and how we’ve structured the team, and the quarterbacks that are on the roster, we couldn’t do this”. Later on, ESPN’s Adam Schefter explained the conditional pick if the Vikings make to the NFC Championship game this season then it becomes a 3rd round pick and becomes a 2nd round pick if the Vikings win the Super Bowl. The Vikings were in the playoffs last season.
