Twitter is infusing new blood into its board as the company continues to face challenges growing its user base and revenue amid turnover among its executive ranks, along with heightened speculation that Twitter may be an acquisition target.

Kordestani also said in a statement that Taylor has “a great mind for consumer products and technologies that will be invaluable”. More importantly, Taylor is an active Twitter user, with over 42,000 followers and thousands of tweets sent. “I hope to bring my knowledge and experiences to bear to help Jack Dorsey and the board push Twitter and its services forward”. Dorsey has been heading Twitter, since former CEO Dick Costolo stepped down from the board. Also, if you look at Taylor’s resume, you’ll realize at once why the micro-blogging platform has poached him as an advisory member on the company’s board.
Taylor is a graduate of Stanford University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in computer science.
Taylor is now the CEO and co-founder of Quip, the modern productivity suite that simplifies your life and helps your team get work done faster.
Prior to Quip, Taylor spent three years of Facebook through the acquisition of FriendFeed, a social network that he helped start.
Taylor, who is also credited with co-creating Google Maps before joining Facebook, offers a product and engineering know-how the board largely lacks at the moment. Taylor left Facebook in 2012.
