Ex-GOP White House hopeful backs Trump
Chris Christie surprised many on Friday morning when he announced he is “proud to be here to endorse Donald Trump”.

Christie also slammed Florida Sen.
There is “no question” that Mr Trump would turn around Washington, Mr Christie continued, and keep Democratic candidate and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton from winning the White House.
During a standing-room only event at the Chevy Bricktown Events Center, Florida’s junior Republican U.S. Senator launched attacks at Donald Trump, calling him a “con artist” and urging supporters to encourage their Trump-supporting friends to pick another candidate. Marco Rubio (R-FL) reacts to a point by Donald Trump during Thursday’s Republican presidential debate.
Trump is now standing at 38.3 percent in HuffPost and Pollster polls, followed by Cruz’s 18.2 percent and Rubio’s 17.1 percent.
Cruz, who is tied with Rubio for second in delegates according to some estimates, could get back in the game with wins in his home base of Texas and other Southern states on Tuesday.
“It’s time to pull [Trump’s] mask off, so that people can see what we’re dealing with here”, Rubio told the crowd. “Then go into private sector and get rich like Trump”, Christie responded.
But the endorsement sent shockwaves through the political world, as Trump is running a mostly populist, outsider campaign for the nomination. He said “this was an endorsement that really meant a lot” and described Christie as an “outstanding man with an outstanding family”.
Christie called Trump “someone who is going to lead the Republican party to victory in November over Hillary Clinton, which is the single most important thing we can do”.
Rubio went on to speculate why Trump needed a full-length mirror during a break in the Thursday evening Debate.
“I’m happy to be on the Trump Team and I look forward to working for him, ” Christie said with Trump at his side.

Trump said during the debate that he couldn’t release his taxes because they’re now being audited.
