Ex-Huskies coach Sarkisian gets job at Alabama

Steve Sarkisian, who was sacked as the University of Southern California football coach last season, is now working as an analyst for No. 1 Alabama, the reigning national champions who dismantled the No. 20 Trojans, Sarkisian’s former team, 52-6 on Saturday.

Alabama coach Nick Saban will face two opponents from Kentucky this season. Then the next thing you know, if you don’t want to hit that pitch, that’s all you see.

“We played a very good team today, and they played up to their potential”, Helton said after the game. WKU (1-0) beat Rice 46-14 this past Thursday. “I didn’t make a decision or statement about who I was starting”.

USC started quarterback Max Browne, but pulled him in favor of Sam Arnold when the game got out of hand. Actually, that was true after just one year, as he was nominated right away for the Broyles Award, given to the country’s top assistant. I think our guys will be ready. Start fast and finish strong is something that we talk about. And we’ve got some good players on our team and they want to go down there and showcase what they’re about and do the best job they can to help us win and compete against the very best and showcase themselves. “And I’m proud of our team for beating a good team”. Alabama trailed 3-0, and he immediately made it worse by botching a handoff and fumbling.

Quarterback Mike White led the way with 517 passing yards and three touchdowns. And they play really tough, physical defensive football. “If I learned one thing from tonight, it’s how insane momentum plays a role in these type of games”. They are nearly never happy unless you win the whole thing.

Saban announced senior offensive guard Alphonse Taylor missed Saturday’s game due to suspension.

Florida extended the nation’s longest winning streak in season openers to 27 by defeating University of MA 24-7, with Luke Del Rio throwing two touchdown passes in his first career start. Lose, but bounce back against conference rivals, and the loss gets thrown well into the depths of the rear-view mirror.

While Tomlinson returned to action later in the game, Saban listed Sims as day-to-day for this week’s home opener against Western Kentucky.
