Court records say Salemme is charged with murder of a witness on May 10, 1993, but do not identify the victim.

Federal prosecutors say former New England Mafia boss Francis “Cadillac Frank” Salemme has been arrested in the murder of a witness.

Salemme was arrested in CT and was due to appear before a federal court in Boston later Wednesday. Federal prosecutors said Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016, that the former Mafia boss has been arrested on charges related to murder of a witness. Other potential sentences include life in prison, five years of supervised release and a fine of $250,000.

Disarro was involved in a South Boston nightclub and suddenly disappeared shortly after Salemme and his son became involved with the club.

“Cadillac Frank” Salemme, after his arrest August 11, 1995, in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was living under the alias Richard Parker in Atlanta, Georgia at the time of his arrest.

Salemme has denied Flemmi’s allegation that he watched his son Frank strangle DiSarro and then helped dispose of DiSarro’s body.

Salemme, who is now in his 80s, is expected to appear in U.S. District Court on Wednesday afternoon.

“We’ll vigorously fight these charges”, Boozang said.
