Ex-Patriots star Hernandez due in court in double slaying
That awkward moment when there’s laughter during a hearing for a double murder case.

A former friend of convicted murderer and ex-NFL star Aaron Hernandez will identify him as the man who fatally shot two Cape Verdean nationals after a dispute at a Boston nightclub in July 2012, MA prosecutors said on Tuesday.
His trial date has been set for February 13, 2017 by a judge.
Hernandez is accused of following the men and opening fire on their vehicle after one of them accidentally spilled a drink on him inside the club. Hernandez is accused of opening fire on their vehicle.
Hernandez, who is serving a life sentence for a 2013 murder, recently hired a new defense team that includes Florida attorney Jose Baez, known for winning an acquittal for Casey Anthony in the death of her daughter during a highly publicized trial in 2011.
“Hernandez strongly maintains his innocence, and I plan to establish that before a jury of his peers”, Baez said in a statement, per Reuters. Unfortunately, these descriptions have changed, so we’re going to be addressing that’.
He went on to catch 51 passes and score five touchdowns that season, his last in the NFL.
