“Thanks to all for your kind get-well messages”, read a tweet sent from the former president’s verified Twitter account.

George H.W. Bush appears to be doing well after his hospitalization at Maine Medical Center earlier this month.
The 91-year-old tweeted a smiling photo showing him in a neck brace and giving two thumbs up Thursday.
The former president fractured his C2 vertebra just below his skull in the fall.
Doctors reported that Bush didn’t suffer from nerve damage, and said the injury would take three-to-four months to fully recover.

Back in June 2014, Bush celebrated his 90th birthday by throwing himself out of a plane at a height of about 10,000 feet over Kennebunkport, Maine. He was hospitalized in Houston in December for about a week for shortness of breath, and spent Christmas 2012 in intensive care at the same Houston hospital for a bronchitis-related cough and other issues.
