And after sexually assaulting an unconscious woman and spending three months behind bars, it took Brock Turner less than 30 seconds to walk out of a California jail Friday.

Following Turner’s release from jail, Sheriff Laurie Smith said she believed his sentence was too light. Throngs of armed protesters gathered outside of the Turner home in OH, many of them holding signs that shared their opinion of Brock Turner’s sentence and early release with the world, reports The New York Post.
Because the three charges Brock Turner was convicted of, assault with intent to commit rape of an intoxicated or unconscious person, sexual penetration of an intoxicated person and sexual penetration of an unconscious person, were sex crimes and felonies it is likely that he will find it hard to find gainful employment or continue his higher education.
Protestors have gathered at the family home of Brock Turner in OH as they await his return after being released from prison last week. Written by the Santa Clara County district attorney and promoted by a Stanford law professor who is a friend of the victim and wants the judge recalled, it was carried by Assemblymen Bill Dodd, D-Napa, and Evan Low, D-Campbell, and Sen.
Nearly a million people signed a recall petition for the judge, while those supporting him argued that censoring judges for sentencing goes down a unsafe slope. As The Daily Mail reports, they snapped the some photos of the newly-released former Stanford student as he tries to live his post-jail life in peace and harmony. Stanford director of the Office of Alcohol Policy and Education Ralph Castro called the new policy a “harm reduction strategy”, a tactic that many see as capitulating to Turner’s assessment that alcohol and the party culture are to blame for his assault, denying his personal responsibility. Others compared his jail term to harsher punishments people receive for comparatively trivial offences. The bystander intervention program, Green Dot, is helping students feel empowered to intervene in situations such as Turner’s to show that anyone can help prevent sexual assault. He was apprehended by two other Stanford students who chased him after he ran and held him until police arrived.
Turner was found guilty in March of three felony charges: assault with intent to commit rape of an intoxicated/unconscious person, penetration of an intoxicated person and penetration of an unconscious person.
The victim for her part, wrote an eloquent and devastating letter which I’m sure you’ve all read, detailing the many upsetting and horrific ways in which Brock’s actions have impacted negatively on her life.
Carrying signs such as “castrate rapists” and “the rapist who lives here got three months, justice?” the group were waiting for the former Stanford university swimmer.
Smith, the Santa Clara County sheriff, gave reporters outside the jail Friday a copy of a letter she sent to California Gov.

“Women have a fundamental right to expect fairness and justice from the courts of law”, Dauber told the crowd in her opening remarks, citing several recently publicized cases overseen by Persky that she says prove a longstanding pattern of his bias toward privileged and white defendants. Dan and Carleen Turner are also anxious about death threats. Jerry Brown this week, urging him to sign the bill. “We will pop in unannounced from time to time to make sure he’s living where he says he’s living”, Greene County Sheriff Gene Fischer told WHIO.
