Ex-student massacres 17 people in United States school shooting

After the Las Vegas shooting in October when 59 people were killed by a gunman, President Trump said it wasn’t the right time to talk about gun control. A person with his name wrote a comment a year ago under a YouTube video that read “I’m going to be a professional school shooter”.

Wednesday’s shooting is at least the fourth at USA middle and high schools this year.

Trump marveled at the speed with which first responders got victims to the hospital – but ignored shouted questions about whether guns should be more tightly regulated.

The mother of a 14-year-old killed in the mass shooting makes a heart-wrenching plea to Donald Trump.

It was a familiar political reaction in the House and Senate, as Democrats gave anguished speeches, rattled off a list of horrifying mass shootings, and asked when there would be some type of government response. “There will be no call for any sort of sane gun regs”.

“So I agree with both of those statements“.

“Are we coming to expect these mass shootings as a kind of routine matter?” How many kids need to die!

“She kept texting me and she kept saying she was fine, and she was hiding”, Rozenblatt told PEOPLE.

While we’re at it, thanks for the moment of silence on the state House floor over which Speaker Richard Corcoran presided as news of the slaughter spread. “You need to help us, now”. “We need action. We have to do something”.

But Mr Ryan went on to blame the Senate for the not acting to address loopholes in the instant background check system, while at the same time defending legislation to effectively allow nationwide concealed gun permits.

A few US states have laws allowing police and family members to obtain orders barring people suspected of being a threat from possessing guns, but Florida does not. The latest school carnage snatched away at least 17 lives in Parkland, Florida. “Jenks Campus Police officers maintain a constant and very visible presence at our school sites, and the safety and security of our students and staff members is always the number one priority”. There were also declines in non-gun-related suicides and homicides, the study found, meaning researchers can’t determine whether the laws can be credited with driving the declines.

We hope there’s a day when we don’t have to write posts like this anymore. Let us know how they’re feeling.

Florida’s Republican governor Rick Scott said he would discuss the gun issue when he meets with other state leaders next week.

Rep. Salud Carbajal (D-CA) similarly said: “We are once again reminded that we have a responsibility to act in Congress to change things. No child, no teacher should ever be in danger in an American school”, he continued.

To Trump’s point of the shooter being “mentally disturbed”, Trump signed a Republican bill previous year that makes it easier for people who are mentally ill to purchase guns. Students & teachers shouldn’t have to fear for their safety.
