In a legal document obtained by The Cubic Lane, Sam Nunberg accuses the Republican candidate of wanting to silence him to prevent the media from covering a relationship between two of its main campaign staff.
A former political advisor to Donald Trump, Samuel Nunberg, has asked a judge in NY to block the presumptive Republican presidential candidate from moving forward with an arbitration case against him.
Nunberg has been highly critical of Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, both professionally and personally.
The lawsuit injects more drama to the Trump campaign as rumors swirl about the Republican presumptive nominee’s vice presidential pick. MORE to prove why his lawsuit against a former campaign aide should be arbitrated outside of a courtroom, The Daily Beast reported.
On Thursday a NY judge ruled that for now, Donald Trump can not keep his lawsuit against a former staffer behind closed doors. The Associated Press reported in June that “campaign volunteers and even a maker of his famous “Make America Great Again” hats” have to sign NDAs.
What is public: Nunberg’s attorneys have filed a proposed order requesting that the arbitration in this matter “commenced by respondent Trump 2012 PCA before the American Arbitration Association … on or about July 11, 2016, be stayed pending the determination of this application”. Nunberg is seeking $10 million in compensatory damages, the documents show.
Nunberg called Trump’s claim “a frivolous and retaliatory arbitration proceeding against me essentially to punish me and shut me up”.
Mr Nunberg denied being the source of the article, but in court papers referred to the quarrel as being part of an “apparent affair”. It’s Sam Nunberg, who was part of the Trump campaign in its early stages and then was sacked – allegedly on Lewandowski’s orders – over old Facebook posts last August.
