Expect plenty of DLC for Injustice 2
So we’ll have to wait until EVO, which runs from July 15-17, to find out more.

With eight released DLC characters, Mortal Kombat X has so far had the most downloadable content for any game by NetherRealm Sutdios, and judging from a recent interview, we can expect more in the recently announced Injustice 2. In other words, Injustice 2 could administer micro-transactions.
Assuming the “pattern” follows exactly how Boon plans, we could be seeing at least 10 characters released for Injustice 2 as DLC. While the size of the base game’s roster has not yet been revealed, it is expected to be larger than the roster of the first Injustice. Ed Boon, creative director of NetherRealms, confirmed that numerous characters will be added to the game as they have previously done with “Gods Among Us”. However, IGN speculates that the developer could implement a “pay-to-unlock” system that lets players purchase new gear to customise their character.
Speaking about the longevity of Injustice 2, Boon gave a glimpse into the current mindset of the development team. “Ideally to me the whole objective of this feature is customization, longevity and ongoing molding of your character so to speak”.
With regards to his aforementioned statement about players possibly not being interested in investing a large amount of time in the game, Boon has also stated that NeatherRealm Studios is looking to “cast the biggest net possible to get as many players into it as possible”.
