Trade between India and ASEAN stood at Dollars 65.04 billion in 2015-16 and comprises 10.12 per cent of India’s total trade with the world.

Both leaders reviewed the immediate priorities in the strategic partnership.

His statement assumes significance in the wake of his visit to Vietnam, India’s country coordinator for the Asean, on Friday and Saturday.

This is the third time that Modi is attending these two Summits.

He concluded reiterating that Indiais willing to march with ASEAN to fulfill promise and potential of its strategic engagement.

He invited ASEAN as the “Guest of Honour” for the International Buddhist Conclave in October.
