TEMPE, Ariz. – When the Arizona Cardinals watched the tape of the Denver Broncos’ win over the Dallas Cowboys from last Sunday, they saw a blueprint of how to slow running back Ezekiel Elliott almost to a grinding halt.
“We’re a very strong team. It’s definitely not who I am for this team”, said Elliott. “We’ve had bad weeks offensively before”. Then you have to just leave your corners in man coverage against the Cowboys receivers all game, while also getting pressure without resorting to the blitz. Some of this blame does go to the offense, though, with its multiple turnovers that have forced the other side of the ball to play way too many minutes. The Cowboys are going to get their offense going against a questionable Arizona defense.
The Cowboys loss at Denver in week two has brought the critics out in full force and the players have heard the noise.
You can not win football games when you are playing backups against some of the better receivers in the league. I believe the Cowboys won’t face another team this season with better overall defensive personnel than the Broncos. “I’m not buying it”.

I do agree with Sharpe that Dez needs to run better routes, but as an eight year veteran, Dez should’ve mastered the route tree a long time ago. “He’s a great worker and a great leader, so, I mean, he’s been the same”.

For the Cowboys, this loss hurts. To steal a Bill Belichick-ism, they are on to Arizona. It was one day and it was a bad day for us. Although, emotions are high and we don’t really know what to expect from this Cardinals team.
